Dog boarding in Edmonton: a home away from home.

Days spent playing in the valley with their daycare friends. Nights in their own private suite, with their own bed, their own teddy, and a goodnight check before lights out.

Nights at the valley

What happens after the last pick-up

The part of boarding you never get to see, so we drew it for you.

Lights out

Suite 4 · fast asleep

Lights down, tails down

The last daycare pick-up leaves and the valley goes quiet. Boarders head to their own private suites: no kennel rows, no barking hallways, just their own door and their own space.

It smells like home

Their bed from your living room. The teddy they refuse to sleep without. The treats you packed. We set each suite up so the last thing they smell before sleep is home.

Tucked in, checked on

The final tuck-in and washroom break happens between 8 and 10 PM: every dog settled, every suite checked. Suites are camera monitored through the night, with emergency staff nearby if they're ever needed.

Their routine, not ours

Medications, dietary restrictions, feeding schedules, the weird little rituals: tell us everything. We follow your notes to the letter, so their stay feels seamless.

Morning comes early

First light, suite doors open, and it's a daycare day all over again, out in the valley with a pack they already know. That's the whole trick: boarding here is just more of their favourite place.

Why board with us?

Four reasons they sleep easy here

A suite of their own

No kennel rows, no barking hallways. Every boarder sleeps in their own private, climate-controlled suite: their own door, their own space, made up with the bed and blanket from home.

Every day is a full daycare day

Daytime play isn’t an add-on; it’s included in the nightly rate. Boarders spend every full day of their stay out in the valley with the pack they already know; only the check-out morning is pickup-only. They go home tired, not cooped up. Most Edmonton kennels charge daycare or “activity time” as an add-on. Here it is the product: boarding is daycare with a sleepover.

Their routine, to the letter

Medications, dietary restrictions, feeding schedules, the weird little rituals: tell us everything, and we follow your notes exactly. The goal is a stay that feels seamless:

  • Meals to schedule
  • Meds on time
  • Familiar comforts
  • Daily Facebook photos

Home, while you’re away

Boarding is just more of their favourite place

Because boarders are already daycare regulars, an overnight stay isn’t a strange kennel in a strange place; it’s the valley they love, extended past dark. Familiar faces, a routine they know, and a quiet suite to come home to at the end of the day.

Frequently asked questions

Before their first sleepover

How much does dog boarding cost in Edmonton at The Paw Valley?

$50/night for one dog, $45/night on stays of 3+ nights, and a second dog from the same household is always 50% off. Every night includes a full daycare day (prices before GST).

Is this a dog kennel?

No, there are no kennel rows here. Every boarder sleeps in a private, climate-controlled suite with their own door, with a final tuck-in and washroom break between 8 and 10 PM and camera monitoring overnight.

What should I pack for my dog's stay?

Their own bed or blanket, a favourite toy, and their regular food; familiar smells make the suite feel like home. We follow your feeding and medication notes to the letter.

What vaccinations does my dog need to board?

The same core list as daycare: Rabies, DHPP (distemper/parvo) and Bordetella (kennel cough), verified at registration.

Can I drop off or pick up on a Sunday or holiday?

Sunday has no drop-offs; Sunday pick-up is 9:30–10:00 AM. There are no drop-offs or pick-ups on statutory holidays; dogs staying over a holiday simply continue their stay.

Can anyone board their dog?

To board with us, your dog must be an active daycare client. Our staff assess whether your dog is ready; a pup who has never been away from you may need more daycare visits to feel at home first, while a dog with boarding experience may be ready sooner. Every dog is different, and we always put their comfort and readiness first.

Do boarding dogs play during the day, and is that extra?

It's included in the nightly rate at no extra charge. Boarding dogs follow the exact same schedule as daycare and play with the friends they already know; every full day of the stay is a full daycare day out in the valley. Only the check-out morning is pickup-only (before 9:15 AM on weekdays), since that night has already ended. Depending on your dog's age or length of stay, some take more rest breaks through the day, but every dog gets plenty of exercise and socialization.

Will you update me on how my dog is doing?

We post daily pictures of the dogs on our Facebook page; check in any time to see how your pup's stay is going.
